Mary Naden, M.F.A. and certified by A.T.I, is both a Bluegrass performer and an Alexander Technique teacher. Originally exposed to Alexander Technique during her years in acting school, she went on to study for 3 years at the Philadelphia School for the Alexander Technique and then went on to apprentice with several of the finest teachers in the country. She has 30 years of experience teaching performers of all kinds at University of Maryland, Ellington School of the Arts, and the Rome School of Music and Drama at Catholic University. She maintains a private practice in Takoma Park, MD, where she teaches when she’s not hauling her bass to gigs. She brings enthusiasm and compassion to her teaching for students of all kinds.
