James Griffin has been a professional artist and illustrator since 1976. He painted covers for romance books. His fine art paintings are in private collections worldwide, and in museum collections. He has won numerous awards, had many solo exhibitions, including the Tapestry of Movement exhibition at William King Museum, which ended in January 2025. Many of his original Romance book cover illustrations were included in the February exhibition at McDaniel College, titled, Romancing the Novel. He and his wife, Debbie, own the Griffin Art Gallery in Jonesborough, Tennessee. His teaching style is relaxed, effective and fun. James describes teaching his class as a “great pleasure”.
