Qin Fang was born in China, studied in both China and the US, and currently teach Chinese history here. She learned Chinese calligraphy and painting in elementary school, first as a mandatory requirement and then as a hobby. When she graduated with a degree in History, she appreciated the Chinese painting she encountered in the documents and archives. Calligraphy practice also helped her to decipher the documents and archives written in traditional Chinese characters. Today, calligraphy and painting are part of her daily life for both body and mind practice.
