Yuh Okano creates textile works centered on the theme of fiber origins from her base in Chestertown, Maryland. She began her career in 1995 and celebrates her 30th anniversary this year. Before moving to the U.S., she taught for seven years at a textile academy in Tokyo, honed her skills in Japan's major textile production areas, and participated in group activities. Building upon Kiryu City's world-renowned precision craftsmanship and attention to detail, she continuously develops her unique textile line incorporating handwork. A deep interest in the natural world serves as the source of her work, expressing artistic patterns, colors, shapes, and textures.
