Use watercolor to create prints using plexiglass as a printing plate.
Students will use watercolors to create 5-10 one of a kind prints from plexiglass plates using hand burnishing (with spoons, rolling pin or brayer). Students will explore a variety of watercolor techniques that can be done and printed from the plexiglass plates.
A variety of subject matter and watercolor techniques will be suggested. Students will not only learn watercolor skills but also learn about monoprint and basic printing skills. They will be able to use drawn images, photographs, and non-objective imagery as subjects. Students will be encouraged to create a series of images into a panoramic print series.
Limit 10 students, ages 16 and up.
NOTE: All materials can be found at art supplies such as Michaels.
Materials fee: $10 includes Plexiglass plates of various sizes, sending pieces of plexiglass, fine sandpaper
