Vinegar graining is an artform that came to America from England in 1790. It was used to create decorative finishes on boxes, frames and furniture. Students learn formulas for vinegar paint, wood preparation, texturing techniques, use of graining tools and varnishing. By the end of the week, you will have a grained wooden box, and an assortment small grained objects to take home with you and the knowledge you will need to work on boxes and small furniture. A great way to recycle old furniture. Contact the instructor with questions.
