Explore the unique style of the Scottish fiddle tradition, and its rich history and repertoire. Cellist Ellen Gira will teach Scottish tunes and their accompaniment while diving into the hallmarks of the style, including ornamentation and bowing. In doing so, this class will be a survey of the traditional Scottish repertoire, including tunes drawn from historical collections as well as those composed by contemporary tradition bearers. Come dive into this rich tradition!
