Don’t be afraid of rib baskets! Learn to weave a modified potato rib basket with a found twisted vine or stick handle using colors and reeds of your choice. As time permits, a random weave basket will also be taught. Previous basket weaving experience is helpful, but not required. Beginners are welcome!
The basket frame and round reed for the ribs will be provided. As you weave you will add secondary ribs to form the basket shape. The second basket will be made using natural materials for the frame. Dyed reed, seagrass, or other fibers may be woven into the basket. Each basket will be unique and individualized.

Class limit: 12 students, ages 16 and up
Materials fee: $40 includes reed, handle, and a variety of weaving materials to create the basket design.
