Students will learn the basic mechanics behind knitting and its different cultural applications throughout the world. The course is centered on a simple knit and purl pattern along with its variants. Students will knit a square with straight needles and will later be introduced to circular needles to begin knitting a beanie.

Limit: 8 students, ages 16 and up

Materials Fee: $20 includes yarn for projects, straight needles, and circular needles. Students may bring their own yarn and needles rather than paying the materials fee.

Students should bring: scissors and a tote bag to hold knitting materials
