You may know bonsai as those cute, tiny trees, but do you know the deep philosophical and aesthetic aspects of bonsai? Members of the Maryland Bonsai Association will introduce that and more as you dive into the world of bonsai. Discover the history, significance and global influences of bonsai while receiving hands-on training in selecting, planting, shaping and caring for bonsai trees. Students will be able to purchase pots and trees during class.

Approximate materials cost: up to $25 for pots and up to $25 for trees. Soil, wire and tools will be provided.

Students can bring cutters, scissors and/or wire cutters if desired.

Limit: 10 students, ages 16 and up.
