Common Ground Downtown presents Jocelyn Pettit and Ellen Gira

2024 Canadian Folk Music Award Winners, Jocelyn Pettit & Ellen Gira are a dynamic fiddle & cello duo. With Jocelyn on fiddle and Ellen on cello, they fuse traditional and contemporary music styles to create a powerfully uplifting and soulful performance. Their music has been described as “dazzling” (FolkWorld Magazine), and “simply exquisite” (Folk London Magazine). This tour celebrates the release of their new album Here to Stay. They are joined by Montreal-based guitarist Everest Witman. Together, their instruments weave a rhythmic, textured sound with nuanced fiddle-cello-guitar interplay. Complemented with vocal harmonies and lively Canadian stepdancing, the trio bring life and fire into original tunes, and high-energy repertoire from North America, Scotland, Ireland, and Scandinavia.

Join hammered dulcimer virtuoso/multi-instrumentalist Walt and friends as they celebrate the season with Southern Appalachian, Celtic, old-time, bluegrass and original tunes at the beautiful Church of the Redeemer in Baltimore.
