Bio

Sue Sachs trained at the University of Wisconsin, and continued to perfect her skill by taking and teaching classes and workshops. She has taught continuously at the Visual Art Center of NJ since 1981. She also taught at the Newark Museum from 1993 to 2013. Since 2004 she has been teaching in her studio at the Riker Hill Art Park, Livingston NJ. Over the years she has taught many workshops at Peters Valley (NJ), Brookfield (CT) Craft Center, and Guilford (CT) Art Center. Sue has juried many craft shows, among which are the Morristown Craft Market, the Guilford Craft Show, the Peters Valley Craft Show, and the Monmouth Arts Festival. A regular participant in the prestigious American Craft Council Show in Baltimore for many years, she also participates in the Morristown Craft Market and the Guilford Craft Show. Sue has made her living as an artist, teaching jewelry-making and creating and selling her work since 1979. Her sculptural work is inspired by nature - flowers, leaves, birds, and sea creatures.
