Tatiana Rakhmanina is a Russian born milliner living and working in the US since 1990. She learned the millinery trade from her grandmother Larissa. Later on she honed her skills studying under Mrs. Rose Cory, a milliner by appointment to Her Majesty the Queen Mother, MBE (Member of British Empire). Tatiana continues to work in millinery in West Virginia, USA.
Tatiana fell in love with Hatha yoga in 1998 after attending her very first class at the local YMCA. She became an avid practitioner, and after 10 years of daily practice she felt the calling to share the beauty and magic of yoga with others. In 2009 she successfully completed 200 hours Yoga Teacher Intensive Training at the Himalayan Institute, a registered school with the North American Yoga Alliance (www.himalayaninstitute.org), one of the oldest and most revered yoga schools in the West Tatiana received her certification as a Hatha Yoga teacher after successfully completing another year of practice teaching in 2010. At present she has more than 5500 hours teaching experience. In her 12 years of teaching yoga she has taught public and private classes to diverse segments of population from school children to seniors.
Having watched herself and others transform and heal as a result of yoga has been a profound and life-changing experience for Tatiana. In her teaching she draws on her own practice and her studies with prominent yoga teachers such as Rod Stryker, David Swenson, Todd Norian, John Friend, Kate Potter, Sandra Anderson, Rolf Sovik, Sherri Cooper, Shari Friedrickson, Luke Ketterhagen, and others.
In 2015 she founded Tara Yoga Hinton West Virginia Studio. Tatiana’s teaching style is grounded in classic Hatha Yoga, and strikes a balance between creative sequencing and simple, safe alignment. Tatiana continues to offer her non-judgmental nourishing classes in Southern WV, and online. She calls the state of WV her home, where she has been living since 1990 after immigrating from Russia. When she is not teaching yoga she enjoys making hats, hiking, camping and cooking.
