Jim Paulsen was born in Iowa and grew up in Illinois. He has a BS from Western Illinois University, an MA from Northern Illinois University and an MFA from the University of Delaware. Jim is currently Professor Emeritus from Towson University where he was head of the Sculpture Program. Jim has exhibited and lectured widely in the United States, Europe and Asia. Jim’s public sculptures can be seen in Maryland, Delaware, Illinois, Glasgow (Scotland) Bristol (England), Oldenburg (Germany) and Beijing (China). Jim not only makes heroic sized public sculptures but also exhibits drawings and smaller, intimate works made from cast paper and wood.
