Lenora Kandiner has taught polymer at Common Ground on the Hill in past years, but has fallen in love with needle felting. She started experimenting with needle felting after taking a wet felting class and deciding that she didn’t have room for another messy craft. She took a piece of blanket that had been a less than successful eco print, and she created her first landscape with the roving she had bought to finish the wet felting project. One of her first landscapes won first prize in the craft category at the Mercer County (NJ) Senior Art Show. A retired computer professional, Lenora spent much of her adult life teaching software, and those skills carry over to teaching art. Besides art, Lenora is a long time folkie, and plays fiddle, flute, and nyckelharpa for Contra, English, and Scandinavian dances.
