Create the hardware and build an antique styled hanging wall cupboard from white pine.
Students will register for this five-period class where they will use hand tools to blacksmith the hardware and build an antique styled hanging wall cupboard from white pine wood.
Held outside in The Grove Studio, students will spend the first two periods each day at the forge with Shel Browder and Steve Mankowski blacksmithing the hardware, hinges, etc. for the cupboard. After lunch periods 3,4 and 5 they will work with Ken Koons using woodworking tools: handsaws, planes and chisels, etc. to make a traditional hanging wall cupboard with the goal of completing the cupboard by the end of the week.
Proper use of hand tools, safety, and how to maintain tools will be shared.

Materials fee of $50 includes all materials needed to build the cupboard.
Students must have closed toe shoes and natural fiber clothing. NO synthetic clothing should be worn.
