Take your resophonic guitar skills beyond bluegrass, from country and Hawaiian to Celtic, pop, old-time and more!
The resophonic guitar has found a home in bluegrass music, but the expressive qualities of the instrument lend themselves to styles and genres far beyond its “home base” in a traditional string band setting. Students in this class will learn a variety of new styles to add to their repertoire, unlocking new opportunities for collaborative music-making and diversifying their solo playing in genres outside of bluegrass. Each class will focus on a different setting in which the resophonic guitar excels, from the more commonly applied country and Hawaiian vocabulary to less-frequently explored forays into Celtic, Pop, old-time and more.
Students of all skill levels will find useful playing techniques throughout the course, with a focus on intermediate and advanced approaches to the instrument.
Schedule a week or two, or three! Or, just sprinkle some classes in between other commitments.
