Photographer John Kurc was shooting the Rolling Stones in Phoenix, Arizona in the summer of 2019 when he took a detour to the US/Mexico border to have lunch. There, John was shocked by what he saw. After COVID abruptly ended his photography business and motivated by what he had witnessed on the border that day, John decided to turn toward making a difference with his camera. He returned to Southern Arizona and began investigating and documenting the construction of the Trump border wall. In this keynote we will learn (through images, film and lecture) more about John's journey of discovery and the non-profit that he started.
John will be joined by Green Valley Samaritan Rev. Randy Mayer.
NOTE: John and Randy’s lecture will be the subject of the Search for Common Ground class. Tuesday, July 12, 4 PM
Schedule a week or two, or three! Or, just sprinkle some classes in between other commitments.
