The mountain dulcimer is known for its beautiful sound and ease of play. Basic strumming highlights the instrument’s drone qualities. All songs will be taught with multiple levels of difficulty. Folk songs and ballads with some introductory harmonies will be introduced. There will be a strong emphasis on learning by ear, the traditional way, but handouts will be available at the end of each class meeting.

All students are encouraged to bring some kind of recording device. A tuning app on your cell phone!
