If you have some experience with flat-footing and clogging, now is the time to learn some new steps and rhythms and find your own style!
This class is geared for people with some previous percussive dance experience (of any style). Flatfooting and clogging are traditional forms of percussive dance from Appalachia, influenced by Scot-Irish, African American, and Native American traditions. We will work on different flat-footing and clogging based steps and rhythms, learning how to improvise to music and find one's own dance style. Throughout the week, we will also look at videos of different flat-footers and learn how-to-learn through watching others. Smooth-soled, leather-bottom shoes are recommended, but not required.
