This course focuses on incorporating a variety of techniques in arranging (e.g. three note chords, valley rolls, bass lines, tremolos, arpeggio fills, etc.), the development of hammering skill, the application of chord theory, and accompaniment ideas. These techniques will be applied in a variety of traditional old-time and Celtic tunes which will be taught through demonstration, by ear, and standard musical notation. Full written arrangements of the tunes also will be provided. Use of a recording device is highly recommended.
