We will reflect on the changing political and social needs of the present age and consider educating students to move into the future.
The various crises currently defining the 21st century, from climate change to the rise of social media, all present “wicked” problems that demand intensely creative, interdisciplinary, and collaborative responses. Yet, too often, our curricula continue to be shaped by the comparatively delimited problems of the last century. In this course, we will reflect on the changing political and social needs of the present age and will work together to understand how our current systems of education might do more to equip students with the knowledge and skills they will need to effectively recognize and advocate for their interests going forward into the future.
