Explore the basics of grassroots community organizing and will engage in a number of exercises designed to prepare participants to initiate a civic activism project of their own.
Often, the transition from talking about a problem to doing something constructive about it is a difficult one. Depending on the complexity of the project, it can be challenging to know where to start or how to go about identifying resources and/or people that can be mobilized in service to one’s cause. However, such transitions are essential to producing a successful society and are often most fruitful when effected at the grassroots level. In this course, we will explore the basics of grassroots community organizing and will engage in a number of exercises designed to prepare participants to initiate a civic activism project of their own.
