Autoharp:  Beginning/Intermediate:  This class will cover tuning and playing the autoharp, learning to play songs.  Slim will gear the class to the individual student's needs.  The goal is to become comfortable with you instrument and play music for your enjoyment.  A limited number of loaner autoharps will be available.  Dig out the autoharp that has been in your closet for years and bring it back to life.  Learn to make some music - this is easy!

Period 2

Stress-Free Harp: Advanced Beginners There are many beautiful melodies which take very little time to learn, and allow learning in a stress-free environment. In this class, we will learn each tune by ear, but written music will be provided as soon as the student requests.  Singers are welcome and simple suggestions for accompaniment will be taught. Students may also bring music they want to share. Simple left-hand accompaniment will be taught as desired but it is not necessary to play both hands together during the class.  In addition to advanced beginners, people who want to learn slowly, or people returning to harp after a long absence will find a place in this class.
Maximum of 12 students

Song Airs for Traditional Singers and Celtic Harp Players: Intermediate - Advanced  Ireland and Scotland have produced beautiful and moving songs that are frequently played as melodies. The idea is to teach the song and the air together and also to teach singers and harp players how to work together for the best results. The music will be taught by ear, with discussion and demonstration of appropriate ornamentation and ideas for arranging. Written music will be provided at the end of the class.  Lyrics will be provided at the beginning of each class. The class may cover other genres, and students are welcome to bring any songs they are working on. A recording device is highly recommended. Maximum of 12 students
