Beginning Guitar: This class is for the true beginner.  You will learn to tune and play your guitar.  The instructor will present the basics of flatpicking and fingerpicking. Students will learn the five basic chord forms, use of the capo and an assortment of rhythms in order to accompany themselves on songs and to accompany traditional instruments. Your goal will be to learn some easy songs and to accompany some easy instrumentals. Linda Schrade, Period 2

All of the following guitar classes require that students have taken or
have the acquired skills of Beginning Guitar, as described above.


Bluegrass Guitar i:  Beginning This guitar class will focus on getting you on the road to playing solid bluegrass guitar, including rhythm and back-up playing, as well as learning some flatpicking tunes. Tom Adams,

Bluegrass Guitar II:  Intermediate This guitar class will focus on bluegrass lead guitar, including tunes, solos, back-up, chord shapes and other nuances of bluegrass guitar.  Tom Adams, Period 2

Resonator Guitar/Dobro I:  Beginning/Intermediate  This class will concentrate on proper technique and learning your way around the instrument, as well as some tunes and licks that will get you up and running.  Jimmy Heffernan, Period 2

Resonator Guitar/Dobro II: Intermediate/Advanced  This class will concentrate on advanced techniques and repertoire.  Learn from one of the masters!  Jimmy Heffernan, Period 4
