Intro to Celtic Harp
Several simple tunes will be taught during the course of learning your way around the instrument. The Instructor will introduce students to proper skills and technique for playing the Celtic harp. Purchase, tuning, and care of the instrument will be discussed, as well as ways to develop your own practice sessions once the class is over. For total beginners only. Class limited to 10 students.
Period 1, Jo Morrison

Stress-Free Harp I (Advanced.Beginners)
There are many beautiful melodies that take very little time to learn, and allow learning in a stress-free environment. In this class, we will learn each tune by ear, but written music will be provided as soon as the student requests. Singers are welcome and simple suggestions for accompaniment will be taught. Students may also bring music they want to share. Simple left-hand accompaniment will be taught as desired, but it is not necessary to play both hands together during the class. In addition to advanced beginners, people who want to learn slowly, or people returning to harp after a long absence will find a place in this class. Maximum of 12 students.
Period 2, Jo Morrison

Stress-Free Harp II
This class allows you to learn in the way most comfortable for you! We will learn each tune by ear but written music will be provided as soon as the student requests. Students may also bring music they want to share.  Simple left-hand accompaniment will be taught as desired but it is not necessary to play both hands together during the class. The class may also cover inventing your own accompaniment. For advanced beginners, people who want to learn slowly, or people returning to harp after a long absence. max. 12 students.

Working Together – Songs for Traditional Singers and Celtic Harp Players
Ireland and Scotland have produced the most beautiful and rousing songs that are frequently played as melodies. The idea is to teach the song and the tune together and also to teach singers and harp players how to work together for the best results. The music will be taught by ear, with discussion and demonstration of appropriate ornamentation and ideas for arranging. Lyrics will be provided at the beginning of each class.  Written music will be provided at the end of the class. The class may cover other genres and students are welcome to bring any songs they are working on. A recording device is highly recommended. Not for beginners of Celtic harp. Max. 12 students.
Period 1, Sharon Knowles & Linda Rice-Johnston

Manx Music for Celtic Harp and Other Instruments
(Open to any melody instrument willing to learn slowly.) Simple tunes from the Isle of Man will be taught by ear, with discussion and demonstration of appropriate arrangement, as desired by the students. Written music will be provided at the end of the class. A recording device is highly recommended. Not for beginners. Max. 12 students.

Hammered Dulcimer and Harp Band Class
This class is intended to help harp and hammered dulcimer players find musical common ground. The instructors will focus on improvised arrangements and accompaniment ideas for these two instruments. Some written music will be provided. Students may bring their own arrangements to discuss in class. Maggie & Sharon perform as a Celtic Duo throughout the year.
